One of Pop Culture's Favorite Power Couples welcomed their first child to the World last night, Saturday, January 7, 2012, via C-section at Lennox Hill Hospital in the upper East Side of Manhattan, New York.

According to sources of the New York Daily Post, Beyonce checked into the hospital under the pseudonym "Ingrid Jackson," and rented out the ENTIRE fourth floor of the hospital for 1.3 million USD.

APPLE's Visionary C.E.O. lost his battle to pancreatic cancer yesterday - One more has transitioned on to the realm of the Ancestors.

In his Life & Work, Jobs stressed hard & focused, yet creative work. When you think of a your annoying boss throwing around the phrase "Think Outside the Box," besides the 1st flash of annoyance, the image of a true mastermind, Jobs could very well also come to mind. I'd bet if we did the due diligence, we come to find out Jobs had something to do with that phrase as well. :D

What more can we here at GYRLNYOURWORLD PRODUCTIONS say??? This man, and his brilliant, brave mind revolutionized the way we compute, and single-handly made being a computer geek/techie/webmaster/all things web and digital-age related cool, not to mention profitable...for his generation, mine, and many to follow.

MUDITA - A Joyful, Simple Spiritual Concept.

Hey Luvies,

I'm still basking in the afterglow of remembering The Greatness of Michael Jackson on his would-be 53rd Birthday, remembering Aaliyah (I've got to do an in-depth blog about her this week, just got so caught up, I almost overlooked Our "Babygirl."), and the great news Bey & Jay dropped on the world last night, such a sweet moment. That smile of hers on stage, and his proud, fatherly grin in the audience as Kanye cheered on, just reverberated through my entire being, as well as with my friends. I'm also still "high" from all the neighborly love we were feeling here in my 'hood in Brooklyn post-Tropical Storm Irene. It's moments like these that remind me that "The Good of One, Is the Good of All," and that the way to grow that warm and fuzzy feeling is to continuously go out of your way to be plain, & simply, & genuinely Happy for someone else.

It's is a term the Buddhists have dubbed Mudita and it's one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE SPIRITUAL TENETS. I don't claim to know all about Buddhism, or any religion or spiritual path for that fact, but I see the ability for Universal application of any idea, tenet, spiritual tool that helps you bring forth your True Spirit, Cultivate Your Soul, and Be Your Best Y-O-U!

Mudita goes a lil' something like this, be Happy for others, with no conditions, no ulterior motives, and You Will Grow Your OWN Happiness. That's It. No Strings Attached :D The Buddhists liken it to the happiness a mother has for her child (how appropriate given all the good baby news in the World, and my world right now...I've another baby shower to attend on November - The GYRL's are Busy. :D ). The mother has joy for the small baby just for existing, and then as that baby matures into a toddler, Youth, etc., the mother has happiness for her offspring's accomplishments and experiences, but moreso has happiness when her child has HAPPINESS. We see it effect everyday, and embracing it will really turn those hardened bitter frowns upside down :D And it reminds me of a lesson a Theatre teacher, Ms. Patrica Dolan Gross, once gave us, she was explaining that the actor truly is an acrobat of the heart because we go into emotions and help give them form, some would say channel them in a way other people can feel them; and that as human beings, we truly are apart, and integrally meshed into each other's experiences. She gave us the example of her grandson's birth, she didn't have to be the one in labor to be elated at his arrival - and this is the point of Mudita. It Is The Vicarious Experience of Another's Joy & Experience, thus bringing it down, or channeling it into YOUR OWN Experience. I think the World would be a much better place if more people consciously knew of the spiritual principle/tenet of Mudita, and actively tried, that is put forth an effort, to implement it in their everyday lives, think of all the beef that would be squashed!?! It's basically the equivalent of "Don't Hate, Congratulate!" So, on that note, CONGRATULATIONS Mrs. Knowles Carter, and thank-god it's you this time around, cause I have NO PLANS TO GET PREGGO ANY TIME SOON, lol! Thank-You Bey for Sharing Your Joy, & Your Pregnancy Experience, in advance, with Us.

So, Yes, I admit it, I've been madd sporadic with my writing as of late, the last post being at the end of May, JUST before the "end of the world rapture" was to occur, and before I unofficially officially kicked off my Summer... and it's been go go gadget ever since I tell 'ya! Finally, culminating in me hunkering down last night for the first HURRICANE to make landfall in New York City in God knows how long!!! (Run-on Sentence). But if ANYTHING can make me come out of blogging/pop-culture writing hibernation, it is the fact that, yes, it is Officially Confirmed, the Dime Diva herself, Beyoncé Giselle Knowles (Carter) is Pregnant.

I would dare say, and think I'd be right on the money with that statement, since the first natural born child of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, was conceived has a celebrity babe been so eagerly anticipated. Don't EVEN get me started on if it's a boy or a girl, or THE NAME (Shawn Knowles Carter II - My guess if a son) this will be exciting & fun to follow!

Beyoncé (& Jay-Z) didn't even make a press release, press conference, or interview to announce the news to the World, she just showed up in a beautiful Blood Orange colored Goddess Dress, giving the universal "I'm with child" baby bump pose.

B to it to another Level. And we've come to expect nothing less from Our Beyoncé! And you gotta give it to ger, she takes One-Upsmanship to the NEXT Level, but does so Gracefully. :D
She EVEN went ahead and Thunderheisted on NYC's downgraded "Tropical Storm Irene" - making one of our City's most EPIC weeks ever, and earthquake last Tuesday, and POTENTIAL Hurricane yesterday and today, pale in comparison to her Golden Locks (though I have no problem with her hair, lol), and baby news... "Oops she did it again!"
(I couldn't help myself y'all - it wouldn't have be a proper MTV VMA's related post without a gratuitously, faux-nude Britney Spears moment - back to Beyonce) Hit album, sold out concerts, and baby on the way, all anounced within 2 months. The latest ballad may be called "1 +1" but Beyoncé is OBVIOUSLY 3 for 3.

The big news being announced on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at the MTV VMA's on the New Moon/Lunar Month of Virgo (for all the Astrology buffs out there) whilst Beyoncé herself is a Virgo, contains a certain magic, poetry, and symbolism all unto itself. Her 30th birthday is this Labor Day weekend on September 4th. Not to mention the news comes on the eve of Michael Jackson's would be 53rd birthday. Could they be imprinting this little on in utero for Greatness??? If this this little tike is anything like it's mom and dad, this very well could be another "musical messiah," in the same vein as a Michael Jackson, I mean Jay-Z already cited Beyoncé as "The Second Coming of Michael Jackson" - the Hope & Possibilites are Endless.

...I honestly didn't even know how she had a "baby bump." She just performed four sold out shows about 2 weeks ago at New York City's Roseland Ballroom on August 14, 16, 18, and 19, with seemingly no "bumpage."

And one more Beyoncé image just for the heck of it. I liked all of the booklet art for "4" but this particular studio photo caught my eye due to the angles, deconstruction, and sheer wackiness, yet sexiness it embodies - that and the boss legs muscles, get it GYRL! Well, I guess you got, and now your going to incubate & nurture it, ha! CHEERS!

Perhaps, the bump's not that big yet, but the camera angles coupled with the simple gesture of a hand place gently on a stomach sent us all a little over the top? The ONLY thing that would make this Anouncement any better would be if this is a multiple birth pregnancy, which could be right up B's "Type A," "Out-Do Everyone Else," Work-a-Holic" personality alley - but that's all conjectjure & hearsay...let's deal with the facts for now. Whatever the case may be, we ARE on the look-out (if tonight's 1st official pregnancy outing was any indicator) for all the amazing designs she'll wear - 9 months of Haute Couture Baby Fashion here we come!

ASTRO NEWS: MERCURY RETROGRADE & FULL MOON IN PISCES!!!

Well, it's that time again! Mercury (the planet of communication and short-term travel) went Retrograde on Aug. 20th, and will be in it until September 12. So, these 3 weeks are a good time for INTROSPECTION and REFLECTION on Ourselves and Our Current Plans (communication and travel can also go awry during a mercury retrograde, so best to dot your i's and cross your t's). As far as the Piscean Full Moon is concerned, the moon cycle is 28 days from New Moon (no moon in the sky) to Full Moon to New Moon again, and the new moon is the spiritually fertile time when we plant seeds, literally and metaphysically, with ideas, intentions and invocations. The idea is that when the Full Moon comes around after the prior New Moon, one will see some type of confirmation (whether pos. or neg. ) on the "seeds" they planted during that New Moon. So, with a Piscean Full Moon, it's a calm, but potentially emotional time being Pisces is a water sign. And coupled with the Mercury Retrograde it's a good time to go deep within oneself to get back in touch with all those things that drive you artistically, creatively, & emotionally, and make the blueprint to how you want to start seeing them manifest after the retrograde. That's the catch with the Pisces Full Moon, it is all about dreams and glamour, things that catch our eye, but being that Pisces is ruled by Jupiter and Neptune, things can be magnified (Jupiter - gaseous planet) and illusory, not lasting (Neptune - water and gaseous planet), like we are getting a glimpse of how things could be, yet it's fleeting. That's what this sign is about, so it is magnified during the full moon, and with the Mercury retrograde, we take time to look in and make plans, but hold off on IMPLEMENTING those plans because things are transitioning during this period, thus it is not a good time, astrologically speaking, for setting the foundation for new ideas, plans, or relationships. Also, during this time of the Mercury Retrograde, we may see old friends and lovers, return to our lives, but this is the point, to decide whether to go deeper, affirming the bond, or to let it go, simply a tying up of old loose ends. Also, Mars is closer to the planet than it's ever been, so we must be careful to avoid fights around this time, especially since it is already being influenced by the emotional Full Moon of Pisces!

31 Days of Birthdayness = Huge Success!!!

Make that BIRTH MONTH to Me :)

WHOA!!!! (imitating Joey from 'Blossom')

So, I feel like I've been around the world in 31 days, in my mind at least :) The premise this year for this Birthday was to thoughtfully & successfully extend the festivities for the ENTIRE month. We Won. Felt like I was riding a wave of Pleasure & Fun the entire month! I've been doing this for some time now, at least in loose form since college, a bunch of good friends have birthdays in March, so we've always celebrated in support of each other. This year, however, the approach to fun was decidely more strategic, and why not!?! We Gotta Effect Our Own Happiness, make a Vessel for It to Enter Our Lives, before the blues take it's place ya' heard??? So yes, the fun started on March 1, with a trip to MSG (Madison Square Garden) to see Venus Williams vs. Kim Clijsters in the annual Billie Jean King Cup. One Word = Exciting. Next we went journeyed to Upstate, NY to the Turning Stone Casino and Resort for a weekend of music, culture, & relaxing! Turning Stone Casino and Resort is owned and operated by the Oneida Indian Nation, a branch of the Iroquois Confederation, and A. Keys was in concert in promotion of her latest effort, 'The Element of Freedom' - It was Definitely an Inspiring performance. While there we had to balance out the experience, can't just be all concerts, casinos, and clubbin' (c'mon son!) so we took and an enlightening trip to the Shako Wi Oneida Cultrual Center, and also unwound at the Ska:ná Spa, one of the BEST Spa's around. One Word = Aaaaaaaaaah :) Interspersed was a little St. Pattys's Day Fun, Hoboken and NYC style, followed by a trip down South to see the Fam...B-RAE Luvs the Kidz. One of my Very Best Friends got Married yesterday!!! Yeah, Friday the 13th, I know, but I'm not superstitious, nor are they, and 13 is actually an auspicious number according to kabbalistic numerlogy because it is one above 12, 12 representing the 12 signs of the zodiac. Thus, being one higher than 12 it represents Free Will, recognizing the zodiac and Fate, and the existence of a pre-destined path/pre-disposed personality characteristics, but ALSO adding the element of Choice, which ulitmately determines the outcome of our Lives. 13 is also an element of 113, and in kabbalistic numerology this is the value of the Hebrew word "Ahavah," Love. So yeah, I've been keen on the number 13, and on Friday the 13th for a hot minute now, at least since I've studying Kabbalah, gotta flip it, take one of the most dreaded days and make it Positive! Now that's Mind-Over-Matter!!!

Their recent Nuptials also got me thinking about marriage and the deeper meanings of what it is/means to have a serious, committed relationship. I am single, and happily so :) However, I am not at all anti-commitment, and am not objected to a serious relationship, but being the GYRL that I am, not actively pursuing one. I feel a man should pursue me, call me old-fashioned! But more importantly, I am taking my time really getting to know Myself, all the Beauty-full, and not so, Ins and Outs of THE FABUOUS ME! Also, I feel when the Time is right, the right person will be Attracted into my Life, in the meanwhile, dating is fun ya' know! However, I DEFINTELY see the value of committment and marriage. Just two weeks ago I was having a talk with a date, and he was gushing over the idea of marriage. He told me how he liked "the idea of growing more 'into' the person you are with," he's a Cancer, an Actor, and a sucker for Love APPARENTLY, and though a I was the one on the fence (talk about role reversal lol!), and found his comment a bit melodramatic, it sparked soemthing in me to remembering the magic of committed relationships, like what is that mysterious X-factor that keeps you interested and coming back to one person??? Now, I definitely see the union of marriage as valuable for child-rearing, my theory being, having the mother and the father in the household provides a stable foundation so that you will have more balanced, healthy children, but I'm not even gonna lie, in the back in of my mind have always wondered is it TRULY possible to be content with just one person for the Our ENTIRE Life? But I DO think so, the Optimist in Me REALLY does :) I remember at one point, I felt so strongly for one person that I would have jumped that broom and made a Life with him. I think in Dating, and Living Single, ESPECIALLY in NYC, sometimes we can come to commoditize/objectify people, and in all seriousness, people can kinda become disposable as f****d as it sounds, because we have our own Lives, and Thangs going on, but when you Meet Your Match, I think you'll know it. Not one to rush anything at all, it has to be a natural progression for me most definitely, but at least I am once again welcoming the time when the man in my Life won't be as accesorizable as what shoes I will wear today. Ouch! That sounds horrible, likening men to shoes, I don't really think that Luvies, just a bomb metaphor, but there ARE those who do - and NO GYRL's I don't condone stepping on the Fellas - well maybe when they get outta line lol ;)

Yeah, I guess that's the biggest part of it, as Individuals, it is ABSOLUTELY Valuable to spend the Necessary Time with Oneself, but the Committed Relationship, moreso, than any other Interpersonal Relationship (Familial, Friendly, etc.) is the one that touches, and moves you deeply to grow and transform to become the Better/Best Version of Yourself, while providing a space for you to feel safe in doing so, as well as the person that will ALWAYS have you back, when it is done right that is...Just some early morning thoughts on Love, and Marriage :)

" NEW YORK - DJ AM, the sought-after disc jockey who became a celebrity in his own right with high-profile romances and a glamorous lifestyle and survived a plane crash just months ago, was found dead Friday at his apartment. He had a history of drug problems.

Police found a crack pipe and prescription pills in the Manhattan apartment, according to a law enforcement official, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the investigation was ongoing. Paramedics had to break down the door to the apartment before they found him, shirtless and wearing sweatpants, in his bed at about 5:20 p.m. (2120 GMT), the official said.

A friend had called police to say he was unable to get into the home in the trendy SoHo neighborhood. There was no evidence of foul play, and a medical examiner will determine the DJ's cause of death.

DJ AM, whose real name was Adam Goldstein, had talked openly about past addictions to crack cocaine, Ecstasy and other drugs, but he claimed he had been drug-free for years, even swearing off cigarettes.

His spokeswoman, Jenni Weinman, said the circumstances surrounding his death were unclear. She pleaded for privacy for his family.

In October, MTV was to debut his new reality show, "Gone Too Far," in which he and concerned families staged interventions for drug abusers. In a recent interview with the AP, he talked about holding a crack pipe for the first time in years for the show and said he felt as though he had an angel on his shoulder for surviving so much turmoil.

Last year, he was badly hurt in a South Carolina plane crash that killed four people and seriously injured rock musician Travis Barker.

MTV did not have an immediate comment on whether the show would air.

Goldstein, 36, was a deejay for hire who performed at Hollywood's most exclusive parties and was admired by music aficionados. He also was famous for past relationships with the reality TV star Nicole Richie, the daughter of singer Lionel Richie, and with actress-singer Mandy Moore.

Goldstein was critically injured last September when a Learjet crashed on takeoff in Columbia, South Carolina. The plane was transporting Goldstein and Barker, a drummer for the pop punk band Blink-182, after a performance; the pair had formed the duo TRVSDJ-AM.

Barker and Goldstein were burned, though Barker was injured more severely. Goldstein had to get skin graft surgery, but about a month later he was performing again, joining Jay-Z on stage.

At the time, he told People magazine he was grateful to survive.

"I can't believe I made it," he said. "I've prayed every night for the past 10 years. There's a lot more to thank God for now. ... I was saved for a reason. Maybe I'm going to help someone else. I don't question it. All I know is I'm thankful to be here."

Goldstein rose to fame several years ago as highly sought-after DJ whose beats kept the dance floor packed and clubgoers hypnotized. He was known for his deft mashups, a blend of at least two songs, and performed not only in clubs but on grand stages, performing earlier this year at the Coachella music festival in Indio, California.

He was to be one of the playable characters in Activision's "DJ Hero," a rhythm video game from the makers of "Guitar Hero" that uses a turntable-shaped controller. The game is set for release Oct. 27.

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of DJ AM, who was a tremendous talent, a trusted partner and friend to 'DJ Hero,'" said Tim Riley, vice president of music affairs for Activision. "Our thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family. AM was instrumental in the making of 'DJ Hero,' and we hope that his work on the game will be a fitting tribute to his creative spirit and musical talent."

Celebrities and fans instantly shared their reactions to his death on Twitter, where "RIP DJ AM" was the No. 1 topic Friday.

"I'm stunned. Rest in peace Adam," singer-songwriter Josh Groban posted.

"I'm sorry to loved ones," musician and video director Pete Wentz wrote. "So unexpected."

Singer John Mayer wrote: "We're supposed to lose our friends to time, at an age when we're ready to agree to the terms of having lived a long life. Not now."

Though we're all still spinning from all the astro-action as of late, at least we've been fortunate enough to experience these rare alignments! Just to back track, we had the first Lunar Eclipse on July 7; then a FULL Solar Eclipse, visible on the Indian "subcontinent" on July 22(July 21 for us in the States); and now this last Full Moon Eclipse, which ties into the holiday of Tu B' Av which I just described for you. In the whilrwind that has been the past two months, I almost forgot to post this video. It's of your GYRL being interviewed by Karina Huber of Reuters News on 7.7.09 in Times Square during the Michael Jackson Memorial. Not an easy day at all! It was especially tough when the Jackson brothers ushered in the gold casket, and again when little Paris spoke, I can relate being I lost my dad around almost the same age. Parents are "supposed" to go before the kids, but loosing them at THAT early of an age, and let me just tell you, THAT SHIT SUCKS! MAJOR ASTROWEATHER: SOLAR ECLIPSE!!!!

Funny it would be raining outside as I post about today's SOLAR ECLIPSE!

Today is the 2nd in a trine of eclipses we have the benefit of experiencing this year! The first was a Lunar Eclipse on July 7th, and there is yet another lunar eclipse to grace us on August 5th. Eclipses usually come in pairs, lunar and solar, so it especially special and significant that we get three this time around. That's a lot of energy for us to decipher, and work with, Luvies!

Today is the last day of the lunar cycle of Cancer, and the eclipse will happen tonight near 11pm, as we are transiting into the lunar cycle of Leo, but the actual eclipse will OCCUR as the moon in is the last degrees of Cancer, so it is a really powerful energy of family, home, and security being released and magnified during this time.

It will be a full Solar Eclipse visible in India and other parts of Eurasia, but unfortuantely, not for us here Stateside. But not to fret! We can watch via Internet and Cable, and we will benefit from the effects of it on a Cosmic level!

Honestly, I haven't written anything since the sudden, massive loss of the Musical Love of my Life...been kinda in the dumps, but alas, today is MJ's Memorial Service in L.A. @ the Staple Center (and private burial for the family?). So, as they lay the King to Rest, I figure I should lay my aching heart to rest, at least aside, as well -though there will no doubtedly be sharp pangs of pain from time to time for months to come, if not years...loss is not easy, but we must try to keep it Positive and think of it as an Ascension 'ya feel me :)

Cancer, the Crab, is one of THE most sensitive signs of the zodiac, though you may never think it due to their tough exterior...I mean there totem is a shellfish that carries its home on its back get it??? Cancers are truly the most domestic sign of the zodiac, having a sincere love of home and hearth, and all things emotionally, AND physically comforting. They are also known as the "mothers" of the zodiac because they have a natural inclination to care for and dote on their family, friends, and loved ones. They respects old bonds and loyalty, and though warm, it may take a bit of time to earn their Trust. The U.S.A., with it's "birthday" being 7/4/1776, and I think I was once told NYC, are both Cancers, so that makes a lot of sense to me. New York for example, looks so intimidating to outsiders, but once you are in, you will find some of the biggest characters and even bigger hearts - but you definitely gotta earn your way in, the USA too; it makes me think back to what my stepdad had to go through to become a citizen of this country...sheesh, but I digress. Yes, Cancers, definitely the best friend type if that is what you are looking for, and they make devoted, yet sometimes clingy, even insecure lovers...but that's all water signs, take it from a Pisces. So here's this week's most important astrological weather:

AWESOME!!!

The 2nd (of 4) Mercury Retrograde of the year is coming to an end. In astrology, a retrograde cycle is when a planet appears to be moving backwards along it's ellipse in the nightsky according to our view from the ground down here on planet Earth (it's really just an optical illusion). When Mercury goes Retrograde it last for 3 to 3 1/2 weeks. So, if you were experiencing any problems with communication (aka "drama"), technical mishaps (i.e. - lost ya' Crackberry), or travel mishaps (loads of my friends flight were delayed this past weekend), that was due, in part, to the Mercury Retrograde. But, alas, the light at the end of the tunnel has arrived because Mercury began going direct (moving forward along its normal orbit) on May 30th.

Hopefully, the past 3 weeks were a time of slowing down for all of us, because now we are in the rapid communication month of Gemini and it's ALL SYSTEMS GO!

WE'RE UPON A REALLY NEAT and RARE ASTROLOGICAL ALIGNMENT

I'll definitely expand on this more in depth A LOT more later, but I'm just compelled by Spirit to get this out and circulating at the current moment. Just know it's a Massively Good Alignment in the Cosmos, again I reiterate, that astrological forecasts aren't written in stone, but we can lessen aggravations, and increase/expand upon beneficial situations with this information, so with that I say:

Sun SQUARE Jupiter, plus, Jupiter CONJUNCT Neputne and Chiron!!! ( a little known asteroid, except to real astrology heads. So:

1. Sun Square Jupiter = Beneficial. This is like a double-dose of Positivity. The Sun and Jupiter both represent Positivity & Warmth, each being huge, hot gaseous planets - yes, I know, but in traditional astrology, the Sun (and the Moon) is given as much weight as the planets, and did you forget that the Sun technically is a star??? I mean, when some asks you "What's your Sign/Star Sign?" The answer you give is based on what constellation of the Zodiac the Sun was in at the exact time of your birth, so yeah... But back to Sun square Jupiter, it can be seen as a Positive sign because the Sun representing goodness is exaggerated by Jupiter because that's what Jupiter does, being gaseous it expands physically, so as a transducter of Spiritual energy, it does the same thing. So, the fact that this alignment only occurs ever 13 years is SUPER Special. A bit more about Chiron, it is an asteroid, 1 of many, but we count this one in astrology as well as a few others. The Special quality linked to Chiron is healing. Actually, I don't remember the character's name, but the wounded Centaur that helped Harry Potter out of the woods that one time is a representation of Chiron. Chiron is known as the wounded healer because in classical mythology, he was a Great Healer and taught others how to be Healers too, but couldn't heal the wound in his own heel. This fact is significant because with this special conjunction comes an unprecedented opportunity to heal old wounds that have been deeply hidden (Jupiter and Chiron are also Conjunct Nepyune, the planet of Illusion and Mystery). There is a lot more to say abouy this conjunction, and I will elaborate as I get more information, and can formulate more meaningful thoughts, but that's the basical gist of it. If things have been seeming extra rigid and "by-the-book" for you for the past few months, this can be explained by the fact that SATURN, THE DISCLIPLINARIAN, of the solar system has been back-tracking, yes, it was Retrograde! So, for example, we are currently experiencing a MERCURY retrograde, and Mercury is the Messenger planet of Communication, so during this type retrograde, communication can become really sticky, technology more-than-likely goes ape-shit (can't tell you how many cell phones me & my People have misplaced or gotten stolen during a Mercury retrograde), short-term travel plans have a high likelihood of going awry, and one shouldn't make any long term plans really (if you don't prepare for it, but don't get scared by this statement because even mental preparation counts - and it's actually the most important, best kind of preparation one can do - to think about the things that could flub, and take the extra time to give them the extra attention and care neceassary to ensure "normal" functioning/success, is all this means)... So with the Saturn retrograde, Saturn governing the structures, rules, and laws, of Society (with a big "S" yes), we may all feel the need to fit the status quo, or just feel VERY hemmed in by it, wanting very much so to break free of it, but usually there is some sort of external pressure due to society's constructs inflicted upon us during this time. Also, we need to go over any legal obligations (for example I have a friend who got called to (Grand) Jury Duty the past couple of weeks, yuck) not necessarily to work on them during this time, but to at least be aware of them, so that when Saturn does start going direct again, we can be ready to tackle them issue. BUT WE ARE MOVING FORWARD ALONG WITH SATURN NOW, SO SHOULD STOP FEELING SO STUCK NOW, YAY!!!

So...the Mercury Retrograde, which makes communication loopy, started yesterday, and the Full Moon is in the most intense sign (which is prone to self-destruction/sabotage), Scorpio.

And how appropriate being that we are coming upon Mother's Day this Sunday, May 10th; because though Scorpio can be one of THE MOST Sadistic and Masochistic signs, prone to guilt trips and revenge(think kamikaze), it can also one of THE MOST Doting and Nurturing signs. SOUNDS CRAZY - I KNOW!!! This is due to the fact that it is a Water sign, and who doesn't like to be near Water? Think the beach on a sunny day. But ever been at sea during a storm? Yeah that is the power of Water in Nature, and thus the dichotomy of Scorpio, and any of the Water Signs, but especially Scorpio as they are the most emotionally intense.

So your GYRL's actually been back a few days now, though catchin' up on work, but I would be remiss if I didn't take a min to fill you in on the latest and the greatest! Thus, here's a funny, lil' ancedote on the personal life (PLUS Miami Pics coming soon too!).

Upon my return from Miami I was disappointed to find the Domincan Hair Salon next door to my new aparment (I had been so geeked about, and honestly still am, I do heart the neighborhood) was turned into a Chinese Liquor Store. WTF!?! Over the span of seven days??? I guess if the World can be created in 7 days, another liquor store can go up in a predominantly Black neighborhood :(

I mean, I was gonna move there anyway, but I was almost having wet dreams about getting my hair blown out for $10! I guess those prices don't pay the rent (literally) during a so-called recession (all I got to say about that is that I'M NOT RECESSING! NOR DO I AGREE WITH IT, AS IT RELATES TO MY UNIVERSE! MIND OVER MATTER 'YALL!). But yeah, liquor store in the new 'hood. NOT A GOOD LOOK.

"Dear Friend and Reader:

Today, Venus retrograde is in an exact square to Pluto, inching her way toward the Aries Point. The square was exact at 6:21 am ET and because Venus is slow and powerful in the sky, it’s within exact orb as you read this.

I’ve been working up to this aspect in previous columns all year, and the Venus retrograde series of events are described in the most precise astrological and psychological detail in the Next World Stories editions for Taurus and Libra (the signs with which Venus is most closely associated).

Let’s consider the theory of the square for a moment. Remember that the square aspect is about inner tension that the psyche is trying to resolve and build on. In natal astrology, typically when we’re younger, squares create a kind of split personality. We will jump from one side of the square to the other, living it out in pieces. This can feel like a deep inner division that cannot be reconciled, but it will keep demanding our attention.

As we grow and grow older, if things are going well, we’ll gradually integrate the two sides of the energy dynamic, which results in an increasingly mature, consistent person. If things are not going well, some people will camp out in one side of the square, in denial of a crucial, deeply influential side of their nature.
