HAPPY (ASTROLOGICAL) NEW YEAR!

ARIES - "The Ram"

The FIRST DAY OF SPRING, or specifically, the Vernal Equinox used to be the New Year, not January 1st, this changed in the 17/1800's...Do the Science.

This Year's Key Phrases:
- You Might Need to Surrender, or Give Something Up - but not to Fret...
- Although this will be an INTENSE Year of HARD WORK...it will be WELL REWARDED.
- Keep Lines of Communication Open. Mediate.
- Pull Together/ Extract the Best Parts of the(Your) Past, make BRIDGES (get it) between your Past, the Present, and Your Future... aka REMIX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- "Solid Thinking Will Create Extraordinary Results."
- "A POWERFUL YEAR OF TURNING THINGS AROUND!"

TO HEAR THE ENTIRE CONVERSATION BETWEEN ASTOLOGERS RICK LEVINE and JEFF JAWER

QUINCUNX

ALSO WE JUST HAD A QUINCUNX:

On March 22, Jupiter is quincunx Saturn. A quincunx is an astrological aspect that is formed when two planets are 150 degrees from each other. This aspect is also referred to as the inconjunct. The two planets involved usually have very little in common, and their celestial meeting can be uneasy as a result. This aspect, above all, demands that adjustments be made. Things will appear muted or unclear, and it's important to focus on the matters at hand. A reorganization of priorities, as well as a change in the way things are done, is wanting.(NOTE TO SELF)
A shift in attitude, outlook and perspective can also be indicated.

Sometimes you know exactly where you're headed and how to get there. As optimistic Jupiter inconjuncts serious Saturn, this is not one of those times! It will be a strain to achieve balance between expansion and contraction. Jupiter represents your ability to find solutions outside the normal perspective of life. Saturn represents your ability to use the past and create a new foundation for the future. Adjust your vision of what you want in life so that you don’t repeat past mistakes. Rather, use the past as a stepping stone for the future. You may feel frustrated that you can’t do this immediately. However, the economic problems bubbling around you didn’t occur overnight. Creating and implementing solutions will also take time. Your ability to be flexible in the face of changing circumstances will help you navigate this time period. You will emerge a winner if you can mix optimism with a realistic approach.

The continual movement of the planets through your life affects the events that shape your future. Understanding the dynamics of your progressed chart will help you focus your energies for maximum return as you plan for the future.

SPRING HAS SPRUNG!!!

HAPPY 1ST DAY OF SPRING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG! I'm so excited, the Spring couldn't get here fast enough for this GYRL. Enjoy the Day Luvies!

Here's a lil tid bit about the Vernal (Spring) Equinox:

What is the vernal equinox?

Attwood: The true definition of the equinox is when the Earth is in its orbit at a point where day and night are equal. That's why they call it the equinox. The sun is directly overhead for people on the equator at noon. And for everyone else, we get equal day and night.

Barwick: The vernal equinox kicks off the beginning of the astrological year. It marks zero degrees of the tropical sign of Aries. It is the beginning of the zodiac as we understand it in the practice of Western astrology.

What are the implications of today's equinox?

Attwood: As the earth goes around the sun it appears that the overhead sun seems to be creeping towards the north. For the next three months it will continue to creep north until the first day of summer, when it's at its farthest point north. As the sun gets higher that means it's able to concentrate more heat on the ground.

Barwick: Somebody who's born at 0 degrees Aries – that's a particularly strong Aries person ... William Shatner, Captain Kirk, has kind of the ultimate Aries energy in a way: going forth, boldly going where no one has gone before, pioneering, being in command, leading intuitively. This is Aries.

I know, I know, it's snowing today...but at least it's OFFICIALLY Spring!

HAPPY NEW MONTH LUVIES!!!

Soooo, when I was in college, my friends and I had a little celebration, a mini-New Year's if you would, at the beginning of EVERY month(at least when school was in session). Oh how I miss that ritual! It was really dope, no matter what was going down; papers, projects, mid-terms, finals, hook-ups, break-ups, make-ups, we were all getting together ("we" meaning a good amout of School of Music students), even if just for 15 minutes(it was an all out bruhaha, but people would trickle in and out depending on what the nest day held in store for them), though a power-packed 15 minutes, to count down and ring in the New Month! We would hijack the house of whoever lived off campus, decorate - were talking balloons, confetti, streamers, the whole nine yards; cook, bake loads of desserts, crank the sound system, and have ourselves a jolly good time. Usually someone would even bust out an instrumental rendition of Auld Lang Syne. TONS OF FUN!!! Me and one of my best Gyrl's, who find herself now waaaaayyyy on the Westcoast(Do It Big T!) keep the memory alive with monthly midnite texts, but nothing could replace that time and that place! It was really a great way to break the monotony of the week 'ya know? I mean living in NYC, I never feel that need anymore, but I HIGHLY reccommend the New Month countdown and mini partaaaay to any of the Gyrls and guys currently pursuing higher education to get out of that study rut, or anyone who bascially just wants to liven things up! It really energizes your month, helping you let off the steam of the prior month, and kick off the new one with friends and a refreshed outlook, believe me...I don't know how I would've survived Undergrad w/o them???

Spring Preview?

Hello Luvies!

So I know Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow this past Monday, but with this weekend's weather predicted to be in the, and I NEVER in a million years thought these words would be coming out of my mouth, mild 50's, can't this GYRL hope the predictions are wrong???

I Saw My Shadow 2day!!!

Hey Luvies!

So I'm just getting back from the Lykke Li show @ Webster Hall.

PHOTOS COURTESY YARDENA SCHWARTZ, THANK-YOU GYRL!

As a matter of fact, it's probably just wrapping up, but for those of you who are hip to game, I had to be out, we works nights...not a night worker tho'. But boy oh boy what I did see! That woman has STAGE PRESENCE in spades, definitely one of my favorite artists of of the moment. Just something about Sweden, (what's up Lydi!) because her opening act, Wildbirds & Peace Drums, was dope too. The lead singer's voice reminded me a lot of Feist, very pure and ethereal, and powerful too. This duo is just the vocalist w/ minor synths, and drums, imagine how strong her pipes have to be holding her own, bare juxtaposed against a sick drummer? A great way to kick off the week.

Shouts to the GYRLS: Yardena, Mawuse, Paloma, AnnaMaria, & of course, of course Roxy!

Peace
- B!
