ASTRO NEWS: MERCURY RETROGRADE & FULL MOON IN PISCES!!!

Well, it's that time again! Mercury (the planet of communication and short-term travel) went Retrograde on Aug. 20th, and will be in it until September 12. So, these 3 weeks are a good time for INTROSPECTION and REFLECTION on Ourselves and Our Current Plans (communication and travel can also go awry during a mercury retrograde, so best to dot your i's and cross your t's). As far as the Piscean Full Moon is concerned, the moon cycle is 28 days from New Moon (no moon in the sky) to Full Moon to New Moon again, and the new moon is the spiritually fertile time when we plant seeds, literally and metaphysically, with ideas, intentions and invocations. The idea is that when the Full Moon comes around after the prior New Moon, one will see some type of confirmation (whether pos. or neg. ) on the "seeds" they planted during that New Moon. So, with a Piscean Full Moon, it's a calm, but potentially emotional time being Pisces is a water sign. And coupled with the Mercury Retrograde it's a good time to go deep within oneself to get back in touch with all those things that drive you artistically, creatively, & emotionally, and make the blueprint to how you want to start seeing them manifest after the retrograde. That's the catch with the Pisces Full Moon, it is all about dreams and glamour, things that catch our eye, but being that Pisces is ruled by Jupiter and Neptune, things can be magnified (Jupiter - gaseous planet) and illusory, not lasting (Neptune - water and gaseous planet), like we are getting a glimpse of how things could be, yet it's fleeting. That's what this sign is about, so it is magnified during the full moon, and with the Mercury retrograde, we take time to look in and make plans, but hold off on IMPLEMENTING those plans because things are transitioning during this period, thus it is not a good time, astrologically speaking, for setting the foundation for new ideas, plans, or relationships. Also, during this time of the Mercury Retrograde, we may see old friends and lovers, return to our lives, but this is the point, to decide whether to go deeper, affirming the bond, or to let it go, simply a tying up of old loose ends. Also, Mars is closer to the planet than it's ever been, so we must be careful to avoid fights around this time, especially since it is already being influenced by the emotional Full Moon of Pisces!

NOTE:

The Majority of the above mentioned information is from my own knowledge and interpretation, but I received some info from astrologist Jan Spiller's website,

and from my friend Paul Moreland (friend him!) on FB, he's great with keeping The People informed :)

"Full Moons bring revelations and with Pisces-Virgo energies, it could have to do with your life purpose. What have you dedicated yourself to doing or being in the world? It might be devotion to an ideal, a child, or simply being the best at what you do."

ASTRO WEATHER: BRACE YOURSELVES!!!

MERCURY RETROGRADE begins today, 9/6/09, it will last for about three weeks, so dot your i's and cross your t's Luvies!

I'm super tired, so will write more latas, but peep the Archives, I've written about Mercury retrograde at least twice the past year.

Here's what astrology.com has to say about it:

"Mercury, the planet of communication, goes retrograde -- for the third time this year -- in the sign of Libra on September 6-7 (depending upon your time zone), until it turns direct again on September 29. Mercury normally turns retrograde three times a year -- however, in 2009 Mercury turns retrograde four different times. The effects of each retrograde period differ depending on the sign in which it occurs. This time around, Mercury is turning retrograde in Libra.

Mercury rules thinking and perception, processing and disseminating information and all means of communication, commerce, education and transportation. Mercury retrograde periods gives rise to personal misunderstandings, as well as flawed, disrupted, or delayed communications, negotiations and trade glitches and breakdowns with phones, computers, cars, buses and trains.

This retrograde, like any cosmic event, affects each of us differently depending on how it's positioned in our personal birth charts. A Mercury retrograde period may be very prosperous for those who have retrograde Mercury, or a well-aspected Mercury in their birth charts. While a retrograde period may be an introspective time for all of us, if Libra is prominent in your chart, you will have more than your usual share of introspection. If other Cardinal signs like Aries, Cancer or Capricorn are prominent in your chart, you will also experience a period of intense self-examination.

Mercury retrograde in Libra can disturb mental balance, making you more indecisive than usual. In addition, attempts to maintain objectivity and an unbiased approach are likely to be difficult and can colored with emotion. Jealousy and possessiveness may enter relationships. Sharing ideas, especially those connected with moneymaking and other tangible rewards may present a higher risk. All areas of communication, especially matters related to law, partnerships and marriage, may also be affected.

THIS WEEK'S ASTRO-WEATHER: MERCURY GOING DIRECT!!!

So here's this week's most important astrological weather:

AWESOME!!!

The 2nd (of 4) Mercury Retrograde of the year is coming to an end. In astrology, a retrograde cycle is when a planet appears to be moving backwards along it's ellipse in the nightsky according to our view from the ground down here on planet Earth (it's really just an optical illusion). When Mercury goes Retrograde it last for 3 to 3 1/2 weeks. So, if you were experiencing any problems with communication (aka "drama"), technical mishaps (i.e. - lost ya' Crackberry), or travel mishaps (loads of my friends flight were delayed this past weekend), that was due, in part, to the Mercury Retrograde. But, alas, the light at the end of the tunnel has arrived because Mercury began going direct (moving forward along its normal orbit) on May 30th.

Hopefully, the past 3 weeks were a time of slowing down for all of us, because now we are in the rapid communication month of Gemini and it's ALL SYSTEMS GO!

To Chattiness Luvies,
B!

Here's what astrology.com has to say about Mercury Direct:

After three weeks of reverse motion, intellectual Mercury is moving forward in the stable sign of Taurus. Now that the messenger planet is back on course, there will be nothing holding you back in June.

Better Communication

Mercury rules communication, an area that can suffer during Mercury Retrograde. Repair any recent relationship damage.

Mercury Goes Direct! - Retrograde relief is at hand, at last
By Emily Trinkaus

Three weeks can feel like a very long time when Mercury is Retrograde. Between the delays, misunderstandings, technical glitches and the general frustration of life not moving forward as quickly as you’re used to, this period can seem like one big traffic jam.

Now that Mercury is moving direct -- appearing to travel forward once again -- it’s time for YOU to move forward. Launching new projects, signing contracts, making major purchases, initiating relationships -- all the activities that were verboten during Mercury Retrograde are now safe to pursue.

And, now that the irritation level has subsided, you can appreciate the upside to these past three weeks. Upside? Well, yes. Those forced time-outs from business-as-usual actually served an important purpose, giving you an opportunity to review, reconsider and re-do aspects of your life that were sorely in need of reevaluation. Of course, you hadn’t noticed the need for reevaluation until you had to slow down, so give thanks for Mercury Retrograde!

Taking some time away from your ordinary reality helped you see situations from a fresh perspective. While your rational mind was taking a hiatus, your intuition was stronger than usual. You may have discovered innovative solutions to ongoing challenges, or a new understanding of what really matters to you.

Now it’s time to take action based on these new insights. Even though your outer world might look exactly like it did three week ago, your inner world has shifted. Give yourself a few days after Mercury changes directions to realign your inner and outer realities, and then get going!

Look up your zodiac sign below to find out how to make the most of Mercury's forward momentum!

Aries (March 21 - April 19)
Now that you've gotten a new perspective on your partnerships, it's time to take action toward resolving any relationship issues. For best results, employ Libran communication skills -- diplomacy and tact.

Taurus (April 20 - May 20)
The universe has made obvious any ways that your work and self-care routines are out of balance. This is the perfect time to make changes in your daily schedule to reflect your new awareness.

Gemini (May 21 - June 20)
You've been reconsidering what really makes you happy, and gaining clarity about what in your life does or does not contribute to a sense of fun. While you have this clarity, take a risk and follow your heart!

Cancer (June 21 - July 22)
Your Mercury Retro assignment was to rethink how to create more harmony in your home and family, and now it's time to implement solutions. Success comes from actions that foster a feeling of inner peace.

Leo (July 23 - August 22)
You've been considering many sides to an ongoing issue and opening your intuition to different perspectives. Now you have the information you need to make a clear decision and move ahead.

Virgo (August 23 - September 22)
Financial issues have preoccupied your attention, and you may have been drawn backwards into money matters from the past. Now you can see how to resolve these issues and reenter the financial flow.

Libra (September 23 - October 22)
With Mercury in your own sign, you've been taking this Retrograde personally. To bring your inner scales back into balance, make your relationship with yourself your top priority and take action based on your own desires.

Scorpio (October 23 - November 21)
You've had a chance to review and revise your highest vision for yourself. This has all been happening on an unconscious level, but now the fog is lifting and you can see how to bring your vision into reality.

Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)
Groups and friends have been up for reevaluation, and you may have retreated from socializing to gain clarity. Now that you can see which connections best serve your future goals, get out and network!

Capricorn (December 22 - January 19)
You've been rethinking your professional goals, wondering if you've been scaling the wrong mountain, or if you need to find a different route to the top. Now you're ready to start climbing again, with renewed enthusiasm.

Aquarius (January 20 - February 18)
Reviewing your beliefs and personal philosophy has led you to expand your horizons. Now it's time to take the risk of acting on what you know to be true, putting your ideas into practice.

Pisces (February 19 - March 20)
Emotional depths and intimate relationships are the areas that have been under review. Now that you better understand your own needs, you can make forward progress by communicating what you've discovered.

THE TWINS INSPIRE CONNECTION AND CURIOSITY (BOY DO THEY!)

GET YOUR MIND OUTTA THE GUTTER, and see what Gemini has in store for you this month Luvies!

May 20 - June 20

Ruled by Mercury -- the wing-footed messenger god -- airy Gemini is the connector and communicator of the zodiac, circulating ideas and information.

What does the Sun in Gemini mean for your zodiac sign?
by Emily Trinkaus

Ruled by Mercury -- the wing-footed messenger god -- airy Gemini is the connector and communicator of the zodiac, circulating ideas and information.

The Sun’s visit to the sign of the Twins inspires your curiosity about the people and places around you, and opens your mind to new perspectives and possibilities. The challenge is to extend yourself without losing focus, scattering your energy and overtaxing your mind.

Since Mercury will be Retrograde until May 30, operating at the characteristically speedy Gemini pace can result in mistakes and miscommunications. Move deliberately, double-check the details, and wait until June to launch a new project or commit to a long-term plan.

A more dramatic highlight during this Gemini season is the rare conjunction of Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune in Aquarius. Exact for the first time in late May and early June -- and again in July and December -- this alignment offers the potential for deep transformation. Addictive and other self-sabotaging patterns may come into awareness, ready to be healed.

On June 16-17 the Gemini Sun energizes the super-conjunction, an auspicious time for seeking out innovative approaches to freeing yourself from old wounds. The more you open up to friends and peers about your inner reality, the more likely it is that you will get the support you need.Find out what the Gemini Sun and Aquarius Super-Conjunction mean for your zodiac sign:Aries (March 21 - April 19)
In your 3rd House of Learning, the Sun stirs your desire to explore a new subject or acquire a new skill. Take time to define your priorities and consider what information you really need to move toward your long-term goals. The Super-Conjunction opens the door to attracting people who can help you realize your dreams -- get involved with a community project you feel excited about to activate these opportunities.

Taurus (April 20 - May 20)
The Sun in your 2nd House of Finances invites you to explore new sources of income and focus on building your base of security. Seek out different perspectives on money management and prosperity consciousness by talking with friends, taking a class or reading a book or blog. The Aquarius alignment offers opportunities for taking your career in a more spiritual, creative or healing direction -- take the risk of following your inspiration.

Gemini (May 21 - June 20)
Happy Birthday, Gemini! The return of the Sun to your 1st House of Self represents a time of renewal and new beginnings. Pay attention to what inspires you, and commit to freeing up more space for pursuing your passions. While Mercury is in reverse, reevaluate your past and reconsider who you want to be. The Super-Conjunction energizes your intuition -- consult your feelings and inner wisdom rather than trying to figure it all out.

Cancer (June 21 - July 22)
The Sun slips into your 12th House of Endings, marking the close of your personal yearly cycle -- a time for resting, retreating and regenerating. Take time to reflect on what you’ve created, and pay attention to your dreams for clues about the new vision that wants to come forward. The Aquarius alignment assists you to experience a deeper level of intimacy and heal any blocks to receiving love and support from others.

Leo (July 23 - August 22)
In your 11th House of Groups and Friends, the Gemini Sun stimulates your social life and signifies an auspicious time for networking. Reaching out and connecting with your community feeds your vitality and attracts support for reaching your goals. The Super-Conjunction brings healing opportunities in the realm of relationships -- take steps to release old love-related wounds and open your heart to a new approach to partnership.

Virgo (August 23 - September 22)
The Sun in your 10th House of Career calls for taking concrete steps toward reaching your goals. Projects that involve marketing, sales, writing and teaching are especially favored. The Aquarius line-up falls in your House of Health, encouraging experimentation with innovative, spiritual, and subtle approaches to healing. Improving your daily self-care routines provides essential support for achieving worldly ambitions.

Libra (September 23 - October 22)
In your 9th House of Expansion, the Sun stirs up your desire to step outside your comfort zone and explore new territory. Unplug from the busyness of daily life to travel, meditate, and get a higher perspective on ordinary reality. The Super-Conjunction helps you identify what you need to release to free up more space for fun, romance and creative pursuits. Take the risk of making your happiness a top priority.

Scorpio (October 23 - November 21)
The Sun shines on your 8th House of Intimacy, inspiring you to connect more deeply and improve communications with a significant other. Be willing to share more of your inner world with your partner, and make a point of inquiring about their needs and feelings. With the Aquarius alignment in your House of Foundations, take steps to free yourself from old feelings of insecurity and open to new sources of support.

Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)
The Sun in your 7th House of Partnership enlivens your significant relationships and suggests a favorable period for cooperation, collaboration and negotiation. If you’re single and looking, wait until Mercury is moving forward before making your move. The Super-Conjunction offers support for freeing your mind of self-sabotaging thoughts and beliefs -- mentally-focused forms of healing are especially effective now.

Capricorn (December 22 - January 19)
Lighting up your 6th House of Everyday Routines, the Gemini Sun inspires new ideas about how to become more efficient, effective and organized in your daily life. This is also a favorable time for seeking out different perspectives on health care and making changes in diet and exercise that improve your well-being. The Aquarius alignment helps you heal and release feelings of unworthiness and open to greater abundance.

Aquarius (January 20 - February 18)
The Sun sets off sparks in your 5th House of Romance -- a time for revitalizing your relationship by demonstrating your love. If you’re seeking a new partner, make a point of going out to social events and participating in fun activities to enhance the potential for meeting someone special. The Super-Conjunction in your own sign invites you to let go of old beliefs about who you are and step into a more liberating version of yourself.

Pisces (February 19 - March 20)
In your 4th House of Foundations, the Sun draws you inward to focus attention on your home, family and emotional realm. Get in touch with what you need to feel secure and supported, and communicate your needs to your family, housemates and close friends. The Aquarius line-up brings awareness to unconscious habits that prevent you from moving forward -- resist the urge to hide your wounds and instead seek support for healing.

WE'RE UPON A REALLY NEAT and RARE ASTROLOGICAL ALIGNMENT

I'll definitely expand on this more in depth A LOT more later, but I'm just compelled by Spirit to get this out and circulating at the current moment. Just know it's a Massively Good Alignment in the Cosmos, again I reiterate, that astrological forecasts aren't written in stone, but we can lessen aggravations, and increase/expand upon beneficial situations with this information, so with that I say:

Sun SQUARE Jupiter, plus, Jupiter CONJUNCT Neputne and Chiron!!! ( a little known asteroid, except to real astrology heads. So:

1. Sun Square Jupiter = Beneficial. This is like a double-dose of Positivity. The Sun and Jupiter both represent Positivity & Warmth, each being huge, hot gaseous planets - yes, I know, but in traditional astrology, the Sun (and the Moon) is given as much weight as the planets, and did you forget that the Sun technically is a star??? I mean, when some asks you "What's your Sign/Star Sign?" The answer you give is based on what constellation of the Zodiac the Sun was in at the exact time of your birth, so yeah... But back to Sun square Jupiter, it can be seen as a Positive sign because the Sun representing goodness is exaggerated by Jupiter because that's what Jupiter does, being gaseous it expands physically, so as a transducter of Spiritual energy, it does the same thing. English - Jupiter's own energy is that Expansion, making things larger than Life, so when coupled with another planet/asteroid/star/heavenly body, it amplifies whatever energy that heavenly body is giving off, and since the Sun gives off Good Vibes, this is a time of let's say "Double, Good Vibes"...however, we have to be aware of the excesses that come along with Jupiter. Another name for Jupiter is Jove (hence jovial - a good mood get it) has the worst time saying no! Jupiter doesn't know it's limits because, like physcially, and "As Above, So Below," you can't limit something gaseous or confine it to a container. This is also a Great time, being that the Sun which rules over our earliest beginnings, to get back in touch with that which REALLY makes you Happy! With Jupiter in the picture unabashed Happiness and Fun, Fun, Fun are the orders of the day!

WHICH LEADS ME TO:

2. Jupiter CONJUNCT Neputne and Chiron = Benefical. It only happens every 13 years people!!! 13, in, my own Kabalistic studies, is a positive the number becasuse it is the 12 Signs of the Zodiac + 1 (your Will Power), so it's literally a represenation of mind-over-matter, and then there's Jesus + the 12 disciples, the 13 stepped Egyptian Ladder to Eternity, it goes on and on. So, the fact that this alignment only occurs ever 13 years is SUPER Special. A bit more about Chiron, it is an asteroid, 1 of many, but we count this one in astrology as well as a few others. The Special quality linked to Chiron is healing. Actually, I don't remember the character's name, but the wounded Centaur that helped Harry Potter out of the woods that one time is a representation of Chiron. Chiron is known as the wounded healer because in classical mythology, he was a Great Healer and taught others how to be Healers too, but couldn't heal the wound in his own heel. This fact is significant because with this special conjunction comes an unprecedented opportunity to heal old wounds that have been deeply hidden (Jupiter and Chiron are also Conjunct Nepyune, the planet of Illusion and Mystery). There is a lot more to say abouy this conjunction, and I will elaborate as I get more information, and can formulate more meaningful thoughts, but that's the basical gist of it. Here is more on the topic from astrloger Jonathon Cainer:

"Mercury is retracing its recent path, slipping further back through the sky each day. Saturn, meanwhile, stands still. Or rather, from where we stand, that's how it appears. Other planets now intensify the difference between 'how things are' and 'how they appear'. Neptune, planet of illusion, is in conjunction with Jupiter, planet of amplification. That implies a 'big misconception'. This rare, once- every-13-year conjunction also involves, this time, an asteroid called Chiron, 'the Healer'. Harm that appears to be irreversible, or damage that seems beyond repair can soon be put right. "

Here are some neat links on the number 13, which is SO, not "unlucky.":

Oooooooooh I'm Feeling It Already...

in
This (Early) Weekend's Astrological Forecast:

Mercury Retrograde + Full Mooon in Scorpio

Yowsa!!!

So...the Mercury Retrograde, which makes communication loopy, started yesterday, and the Full Moon is in the most intense sign (which is prone to self-destruction/sabotage), Scorpio.

And how appropriate being that we are coming upon Mother's Day this Sunday, May 10th; because though Scorpio can be one of THE MOST Sadistic and Masochistic signs, prone to guilt trips and revenge(think kamikaze), it can also one of THE MOST Doting and Nurturing signs. SOUNDS CRAZY - I KNOW!!! This is due to the fact that it is a Water sign, and who doesn't like to be near Water? Think the beach on a sunny day. But ever been at sea during a storm? Yeah that is the power of Water in Nature, and thus the dichotomy of Scorpio, and any of the Water Signs, but especially Scorpio as they are the most emotionally intense.

Also, Scorpio sees things as Black or White, Wrong or Right, there is no grey area, no "in between" for this sign. I found quote that, in my opinion sums up the Scorpionic Philosophy to a "T":

"I never have lukewarm feelings for anyone. I either love or I dislike."
-Coco Chanel.

This is what we are up against with the Astrological Sign of Scopio, and over the next few days as the Moon (which rules our Emotional Core; and is Full, think a pregnant woman coming full-term...she's full and ready to reveal what she's been cooking up for nine months, and thus, the same with the moon when it is full. All those emotions and feeling that have been stirring just belowe the surface are suddenly exposed. This can be a very raw an edgey time in general, X's 10 with Scorpio in the picture, you feel me???)

This is the Energy we all be feeling in some regard as the Full Moon transits through the Astrological Sign of Scorpio this weekend. It can also be a powerfully romantic/erotic time for the Lovers out and about.

So, Hang in There Luvies, As long as we are AWARE of our own Personal Astrolgical Tendencies, and the general the Astrological Climate, we can RISE ABOVE being steered in whatever way the wind blows and all the best during this Emotionally Charged and Intense next few days!

All the Best,
B!

MORE FULL MOON IN SCORPIO INSIGHT:

From tarot.com
Full Moon in Scorpio

Intense Possibilities
This week, we have a Full Moon happening in the intense sign of Scorpio. Full Moons are known for offering us the chance to launch the plans we made during the New Moon (which was last in Taurus) and achieve our goals. But every Full Moon is different. What does Full Moon in Scorpio have in store for us?

New Moons are the time to make wishes, set intentions and make your goals clear. Full Moons offer the chance to bring these dreams into reality, and with this one in Scorpio, you have the extra push of an extremely forceful sign -- the sign of the Scorpion is known as being among the most passionate in the zodiac. It's also a sign that embraces both sensuality and death -- after all, its ruling planet is Pluto, the planet of the underworld.

So how can you put your plans into action? First, connect yourself with Scorpio's key element -- Water. Whether you're near an ocean, lake, stream, pond or creek, take a long hard look at what you think you want to accomplish. One of Scorpio's key characteristics is honesty. Pluto tends to show the shadowy underbelly of our desires, so make sure your intentions are pure. Once you're certain, take a moment to meditate and visualize what you want to achieve. The Full Moon will help you to see the reality behind your desires.

Luckily, the Full Moon in Scorpio also throws back illusion and even invites us to feel a better sense of harmony. It gives us less tolerance for bad influence and ignorance, so make an effort to get over past hurts and too much of a focus on yourself. You have a higher purpose now -- whether it's related to school, work, love, art -- and now is the time to tap into the Full Moon in Scorpio energy to realize it!

From astrology.com
At the Full Moon in Scorpio, we take a deep look at what we're worth. How much do you value yourself? Are you valued by others and well compensated for your work? Opposed by the Sun in bottom-line Taurus, the Moon in magnetic Scorpio reminds us that our self-esteem -- not our circumstances -- determines our prosperity and well being. Messenger Mercury turns retrograde two days before the Full Moon, backtracking into Taurus to offer a tip: Look within and tap past resources to boost your worth. Watch for sudden insights at this Full Moon on how to improve the area of life it triggers for you.

The Full Moon is always an intense and emotional period, and things get even deeper when it's in powerful, secretive Scorpio. But with intensity comes the potential for change, and Scorpio can be a powerful healer. Why not use the Full Moon's light to peer into your past and understand the childhood events that are affecting you today?
This Full Moon in Scorpio is overlapping Mother's Day. Now's the ideal time to gain new insight into your relationships with the significant people in your life -- like Mom!

From Astrologer Jeff Jawer:
Emotions may boil over with the steamy Scorpio Full Moon on May 9. This is a sign of extremes that wants it all or nothing at all. However, mysterious Scorpio can also hide feelings, so keep a look out for signals from a suddenly silent mate or potential partner. Expansive Jupiter's stressful 90-degree square to this Full Moon turns small matters into major issues. Managing resources could be a key to maintaining harmony, so don't spend too much or act too cheap if you want to avoid this romance killer. On the other hand, desires can be exaggerated, making you feel like you can't live without someone who, upon reflection, is neither your cup of tea, coffee or vitamin water.( He said Vitamin Water LMFAO! )

MORE ON THIS MERCURY RETROGRADE:
(courtesy astrology.com)
Mercury, the planet of communication, goes retrograde for the second time this year on May 6-7 (depending upon your time zone). Mercury normally turns retrograde three times a year -- however, in 2009 Mercury turns retrograde four different times. The effects of each retrograde period differ depending on the sign in which it occurs. This time around, Mercury is turning retrograde in Gemini -- its home base. Mercury is the ruler of Gemini!

Both Gemini and Mercury govern communications, the way we pick up information and process thoughts. Mercury rules thinking and perception, processing and disseminating information and all means of communication, commerce, education and transportation. Mercury retrograde gives rise to personal misunderstandings as well as flawed, disrupted or delayed communications, negotiations and trade glitches, and breakdowns with phones, computers, vehicles.

This retrograde period, step back from decision-making, agreements, contracts and use this review time to your benefit. Write down the pros and cons of everything since your mind will not settle on anything one hundred percent! When Mercury turns direct on May 30, you'll have greater clarity and are more likely to make good decisions. If possible, avoid buying communication-related products such as computers and phones. Keep receipts if you do. If you are traveling, double-check your reservations and bring a good book to read and plenty of games for the kids in case you are delayed. From late in the evening of May 13 through the end of the retrograde period, Mercury will be transiting the sign of Taurus, the sign ruling money. Decisions about investments and handling of finances should also be put off during this period.

Like any cosmic event, this retrograde affects each of us differently depending on how it's positioned in our personal birth charts. A Mercury retrograde period may be very prosperous for those who have retrograde Mercury, or a well-aspected Mercury, in their birth charts.

While a retrograde period may be an introspective time for all of us, if Gemini is prominent in your chart, you will have more than your usual share of introspection. Gemini is a mutable sign, so if other mutable signs -- Pisces, Virgo, Sagittarius -- are prominent in your chart, you will also experience a period of intense self-examination.

WHOOPEE! MERCURY GOES DIRECT 2DAY!

The Planet Mercury begins turning direct today, or yesterday depending on which astrologer you ask, after a 3 week retrograde period that began on January 11, 2009.

For further explanation of Mercury Retrograde, read this old post of mine:

MERCURY WENT RETROGRADE YESTERDAY (1/11/2009)
Category: Life

Hey Luvies!
Our good ole friend' Mercury went retrograde yesterday, the first of 4(there are usually 3 in a calender year) Mercury retrograde periods this marvelous year of 2009. It lasts until Feb.1st. Some people and astrologers think this is a horrible period of time, as Mercury rules communication and quick trips, and all types of delays in communication and travel are to be expected, but those are just the superficial effects. I believe that if you just prepare yourself for these minor irritations, i.e., back up your files, cell phone numbers, double check addresses and postage on mail, that these next 3 weeks can be SUPER beneficial. Beneficial because, Mercury retrograde causes us, if we are wise to stop in our tracks, and look back as well. Instead of getting impatient and trying to forge ahead with our plans, we can take this time to be more introspective, looking inside ourselves and checking that we are really going in the right direction/are on the right path for us, and go over those plans more thoroughly before pressing on to implement them. JUST BE EASY Then, when Mercury begins to go direct again on Feb. 1st, it will be ALL SYSTEMS GO!!! for you and your plans, plus you will feel more rejuvenated. Take me for example, I was gonna go look at apartments this last week, but with the looming Merc. Ret. I decided to JUST BE STILL (as we start feeling the effects of the Mercury Retrograde a few days before and after the actual dates it starts and ends) for now, and pick up strong for a Feb. move. It's not in your best interest to make long term plans during a Mercury Retrograde, or sign ANY type of contracts, ESPECIALLY a LEASE, as Mercury, like the quicksilver it is also known as, has a capricious property, so things probably won't last if agreed upon during this time. I mean, there was this really big room in an apartment in Bedstuy that I was interested in, and the 3 Sistas that lived there seemed dope over the phone...but I could imagine all the problems that could've unfolded if that lease would have been signed during a Mercury Retrogade period. Now, I can take these next 3 weeks to perform a REALLY thorough apartment search instead just being impatient, and wanting to move quickly because my bum landlord 'upped the rent. Also, JUST EXPECT travel delays or mix-ups, I recommend traveling light, maybe only carry on luggage...listen up people, like myself, going down to D.C. for the INAUGURATION Also, be light on the relationships too, it's not an ideal time for starting a super heavy romatic relationship. Just have fun., and relax!!! Wishing you all the best for the next 3 weeks and always

Mercury -- the Messenger God in mythology and the ruler of transportation and communication turns retrograde in Aquarius on January 11. This is the first of the four Mercury retrogrades happening in 2009 and lasts till January 31 or February 1 (depending upon your time zone), when he halts and begins his return to direct motion through the zodiac
Mercury is the planet that rules all forms of communication and any time a planet turns retrograde it is time to review. So, when Mercury turns around and goes back through territory it's already traversed, it is time for you, too, to travel back. Don't try to institute plans for the future. Instead see if you can lay the groundwork to provide a secure foundation. Mercury's current placement in Aquarius makes this a wonderful time to break away from old habits and ideas. Mercury will move back into Capricorn on January 21 in its retrograde motion creating disruptions or breakdowns in communications and administrative details. Since this sign also signifies ambitions, it might see us trying to push through own agendas and gain status or rise in life. Jupiter, the Sun, and Mars will also all cross Mercury as he moves along his backwards path, and those days could prove to be significant.
Mercury conjuncts Jupiter on January 19 -- this might be a time for reflections, and old friends can come back into our lives. On January 20, Inauguration Day in the United States, the Sun will conjunct Mercury in the first degrees of Aquarius. The new President is sure to have some very important messages for us on how he is going to clean up the mess left for him from the past and with Aquarius involved, he may have some new and unique ideas. Retrograde Mercury conjuncts Mars in Capricorn on January 27, and Venus will be sending them some positive energy at the same time. The Solar eclipse of January 26 formed by the Sun and Moon will definitely make us ready for some changes.

General Daily Horoscope for everyone:

The retrograde period of messenger Mercury began on January 11 and as it ends today our plans can take us in brand new directions. Certain areas of our lives were put on hold; now we get to move ahead again. Even though it's the weekend, our minds may already be ramping up for the future. We should try to process any excess anger as the Moon squares warrior Mars midday and then we can mellow out once the Moon enters placid Taurus at 5:08 pm EST
